Network and Fellowship in a Christian MBA Program
Christian business men and women who pursue an MBA at a Christian or secular college or university will likely be interested in finding ways of having fellowship and network with other like minded Christian leaders in the program. This becomes especially important for those Christian students who are attending secular school MBA programs, or for those who are studying via an online MBA program, where there are fewer opportunities to really interact with other similar individuals. Whether the individual is studying on a physical campus or in a virtual classroom, at a Christian or Secular University or college, he or she will likely find a branch of the national MBA Christian Fellowship group, also known by its acronym MBACF.
At which schools can such MBACF groups be found, for the Christian MBA candidate who is looking to build up effective networks and fellowship with like minded students, professors, and business leaders? This national organization has branches at many different institutions of higher learning around the United States.
These various programs at the different types of universities and colleges all perform more or less the same basic functions. Whether they are based at a Christian or secular university, or are available on campus or online, the MBA Christian Fellowship groups serve as a means and a place to bring together different Christian MBA seeking students, faculty, and area business leaders to fellowship together and network for the future. They are non-denomination groups, meaning that they are not affiliated with any one branch of Christianity or specific type of church. They provide both community and support through activities, prayer, and university community and area outreaches in order to develop a life time network of true Christian business men and women professionals.
These MBA Christian Fellowship Groups accomplish this through a variety of different ways. Most of them host social events, such as kickoff dinners or lunches and weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly brunches or picnics at the area park. The majority of them offer some type of Bible study or prayer meeting, as well. Many of them will feature fall or spring retreats for their members as get away from campus opportunities. Most of them provide some sort of service projects with which members are encouraged to become involved. The MBA Christian Fellowship groups operate on the principle of the Bible found in Hebrews 10:25, where it says, “Not abandoning our own assembling together, but exhorting one another.”
Most of all, the MBA Christian Fellowship groups provide the real opportunity for individuals pursuing MBAs to forge strong and enduring friendships. They encourage tackling difficult ethical and spiritual issues. And they seek to teach, and to learn from the various members, what Christianity has to say regarding professional development. A Christian MBA student’s experience can only be enhanced through connecting with such a group.
